No Mafia
DIGITAL INSTALLATIONSINTRODUCTION
This installation is a warning and a promise. It reminds us that the mafia is not an inevitable destiny, that the weight of illegality can be fought with everyone’s commitment. But it also invites us not to forget, to keep alive the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for a more just and free Italy.
No Mafia
On the anniversary of the Capaci massacre, the Museum of the Present dedicated to Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino was inaugurated.
A place of memory, commitment, hope and future designed to tell the new generations about the courage of two civil heroes.
The beating heart of the museum is represented by our site-specific video installation: an immersive, pop and deeply contemporary work, designed to involve the viewer on multiple sensory and emotional levels.
At the center of the room stands a large suspended cube, its structure is made up of 967,000 A4 sheets, a number that is not random: it corresponds
exactly to the photocopies made by Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino to prepare the maxi-trial against the mafia.
This unique artistic intervention invites reflection and memory, using a current, direct and accessible visual language, far from any form of rhetoric.
At the center of the experience are emotions, which become a tool for connecting past and present, history and individual experience.
An intimate and collective journey at the same time, capable of leaving a deep and lasting mark.
